Debate: relationships - cr33pyguy - 02-06-2014 So, I'm mainly directing this towards romantic relationships. The main question is, what keeps couples together? Some people argue that it is strong love for each other. However, I feel like a larger contributor to this is how hard each of the contributors is willing to try. In this, love is a big factor, but not the dominant one. Even if both sides love each other immensely, if one of the people is temperamental, the only thing holding you together will be the toleration of the other party. How do you people (I know there are some quite intelligent people behind these screens) feel about this? Is the main factor love, toleration, or something else entirely? RE: Debate: relationships - Cressi - 02-06-2014 I think what keeps relationships together is the tolerance of each others' less appreciated side. The reason for this tolerance, however, I think could indeed be love. I can say, after a few years of a successful relationship, that the psychological part also helps. Even though you're very much in love, a rapport and some SEing never hurts, does it? RE: Debate: relationships - LeoTheLone - 02-06-2014 I think the only reason that me and my GF are still together is because of her extreme tolerance of my laziness and temper, and what made you post this Creepy I'm curious.

Looking at you and your girlfriend I can already tell that it takes both of you some effort to stay together (but well... you're both willing to give a lot more than just some effort) RE: Debate: relationships - LeoTheLone - 02-06-2014 (02-06-2014, 08:16 PM)cr33pyguy Wrote: (but well... you're both willing to give a lot more than just some effort) Damn straight! I'm willing to put more effort into our relationship than I put into becoming 2nd in command in the Xbox clan I'm currently in, and I put shit tons of effort into getting there. RE: Debate: relationships - Jolly - 02-06-2014 Love/Affection. Tolerance. Physical attraction. Knowing what being lonely means. Knowing what the other person is like. etc. |
