What is jailbreak?
Jailbreaking is the process of rooting an iOS device. Almost all smartphones do not come with root access by default. For Android phones this process is called "rooting" while for iOS it is called "Jailbreaking"; however they are the same thing.
What happens when I jailbreak?
The best use for Jailbreaking is to get applications that Apple does not allow in its app store. When you Jailbreak you get a new 'app store' installed on your iOS device called Cydia. From Cydia you can install whatever you want except games. Another common use for Jailbreaking is that in some cases it allows you to unlock the device to work on other GSM networks.
