What if the next major Fate game went all-in on the idea of a massive RPG? - Snickerdoodle - 08-26-2026 Imagine a Fate game where you could travel between different regions and timelines, meet Servants from across the franchise, build relationships with them, and actually explore the world instead of moving between isolated stages.
Fate/Samurai Remnant is probably the closest we have gotten to this idea. It combines action RPG combat, exploration, multiple Servants, and a story built around a Holy Grail War. ![]() Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella Link also show how much potential there is in having a large roster of Servants fighting together. ![]() But I think Fate could take the idea even further. Think about what Kingdom Hearts does with its worlds, or what Final Fantasy VII Rebirth does with its large explorable regions. ![]() Now imagine that approach with Fate. You could have: Quote:• A massive hub city that changes depending on the timeline Saber from one timeline could meet Archer from another. Gilgamesh could become a boss, ally, or even an optional super-boss. Characters from Fate/Grand Order could appear without the entire game simply becoming another mobile-style experience. Fate already has the characters, lore, timelines, and mythology. It just needs a game big enough to bring all of it together. Would you play a Fate RPG like this? Or should Fate stick with smaller, more focused games like Samurai Remnant? ![]() What would you want from the next major Fate game? |
