Hello,
I got my iphone back in September 2023, and I have AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss on it. This will expire on September 2025 and I waned to lose my phone on purpose after backing everything up so then I can sell it.
Never done it before but I would love to hear some suggestions.
My plan is pretty simple:
1. Backup my photos / apps will be on cloud
2. Go underground station on low battery and wait for phone to die / swap SIM to my old phone
3. Take the dead phone back to my home and start a claim.
4. Sell the phone? (Unsure on which sites because now it will be locked)
Risks that I am unsure of:
- Risk that I will lose my phone but not my SIM and when I do the claim they will pick it up? (Or shall I just remove the SIM few days before?/ switch to my old phone)
- Will I need to delete my icloud from the account?
Please give me any suggestions? like sites I can later sell my phone / or how to lose my phone in a better way? (but I will still have my phone on me) // Note that I can't really say it's been stolen because apprently they try to locate those points and i live where there I lot's of CCTV'S.
