Watanabe Confirms Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are Same Universe - Oni - 12-04-2024
Watanabe recently confirmed all his shows take place in the same universe. This would include Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Space Dandy, and Carol & Tuesday. This may have some neat implications for Project Lazarus.
A few years back I remarked that this was a possibility, as the fictitious "Woolong" was used as currency in both Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy.

Watanabe’s confirmation came when asked whether Lazarus takes place in the same universe as his earlier works.
“I’ve always thought my shows took place in the same universe,” he stated.
When pressed further, he responded with a smile, nodding slightly: “Of course“.
