trades or college? - zuluwaifu - 10-29-2024

I am quite stuck on what to do going forward, I can only get into mid tier uni's would it be a better ROI to pick up a trade w no debt but I keep seeing stats that say graduate earn more and tradies have physical issues later on

Really depends what field you're interested in. Some fields (i.e. STEM) a degree might be required, whereas others it could be a waste of money.

For example, you could get a job as a medical technician with just certifications. But a surgeon? A degree is 100% needed.

I’m an electrical engineer and I did a trade first, qualified without any debt, and now I’m managing people that went to Uni.

I would say trade! No need to get into insane debt just to be paid 60k/year
