Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the recent assassination attempt on Trump. There are so many questions that come to mind. Who was really behind it? What were their motives? And how did they manage to get so close? It feels like there are many pieces to this puzzle that we're missing. What are your thoughts?

Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one. My guess is that it was just a depressed kid that spent too much time on Reddit.
He should have had more protection, without a doubt. I've heard plenty of conspiracy theories, like the CIA did it or Biden paid for it.

We naturally tend to think and believe alternative events when something disruptive happens.
When we want to give ourselves an explanation as quick as possible, we tend to take mental shortcuts and usually fall into a proportionality bias: the more serious the event, the more serious must be the explanation.
Moon landing, COVID-19, UFOs...
Now... I had a very hard time believing someone hired probably the best sniper ever (and a sucidal one, no way he could have walked alive from that) to just let him... miss?
And if so, for what then?

Is it fucked up to say the shooters parents should have used protection?
