Beginner's Guide: How to Prepare for Planting Weed Seeds Outdoors - n1ga - 06-03-2024 Hey everyone! I’m totally new to this, and I could use some advice. I live with my parents, so growing weed indoors isn’t an option. Here’s what I’ve gathered so far on how to prepare for planting weed seeds outside. Feel free to correct me or add any tips! Step 1: Find a Suitable Location Discreet Spot: Look for a hidden spot where people won’t easily find the plants. Maybe a secluded area in a park or forest? Sunlight: Ensure the spot gets plenty of sunlight, ideally 5-6 hours a day. Water Source: It should be close to a natural water source like a stream, but not too close to avoid flooding. Step 2: Gather Supplies Seeds: Make sure you have good quality weed seeds. Small Shovel: For digging holes. Soil: I heard mixing the natural soil with some store-bought potting soil could help. Watering Can: To water the seeds after planting. Fertilizer: Optional, but might help the plants grow better. Step 3: Prepare the Soil Clear the Area: Remove any weeds or rocks from the spot where you’ll plant. Digging Holes: Dig small holes, about an inch deep. I think spacing them about 2-3 feet apart is good for each seed. Soil Mix: Mix the natural soil with some potting soil if you have it. This should provide better nutrients. Step 4: Plant the Seeds Place the Seeds: Put one seed in each hole. Cover the Seeds: Gently cover the seeds with soil. Water: Give the soil a light watering to help the seeds settle in. Step 5: Maintenance Watering: Water the plants regularly, but don’t overdo it. I’ve read that keeping the soil moist but not soaked is key. Watch for Pests: Keep an eye out for bugs or animals that might eat the plants. Weed Control: Regularly remove any other weeds that might grow around your plants. Final Thoughts That’s all I’ve got so far! Does this sound right? Any tips or corrections would be super helpful. Thanks in advance for any advice! RE: Beginner's Guide: How to Prepare for Planting Weed Seeds Outdoors - WaterCheck - 08-28-2024 I'm late, but here's some feedback. Growing cannabis is legal where I am, so my experience varies from yours. 1.) Grow in multiple locations. You don't have fine soil control, so pick several locations in the same forest. This will also help if a plant gets diseased, you won't lose all of them. You don't have to plant near a water source, just close enough that you can easily transport water to the plant. 2.) If adding to the soil, don't get just potting soil. Look specifically for perlite and peat. Aerate the soil, mix in the perlite and peat, then water it before planting to settle the soil back down. 3.) Seeds need little watering, they collect the water they need from humid air. To assist with this, put a clear plastic dome over the seed. This is as easy as cutting a water bottle in half and putting a few holes in the cap. Remove it when the seeds start sprouting. Hope this helps someone. Good luck. |
