If you DNA SE software in a box with activation codes can they be cancelled by retailer/manufacturer. I'm thinking music DAW and VSTs

Bump. Wondering if any code on box can be circulated back to software supplier to cancel code?

Can you not just download a version online?

Highly doubt they cancel it if you SE it. I imagine those software boxes are mass produced with codes already in them. You buy one, they ship it to you and then you register the product with your name and it ties it to the code you used. Highly doubt they insert a customized code for every customer that orders it and tracks it.

One thing they can do though is monitor your name/address when they shipped it to you and see if you activate with any code, despite you saying you didn't receive it. This could then be flagged and investigated.

I'm in the boat of just downloading it. If you can determine if the box has a serial number/individual number there is a chance that code is tracked, if there is nothing, you're safe.

You can try, if it comes in a box with a code of course.
