Sooo I got doxed and compromised - lux - 12-02-2013 Well as the title says that happened. So those who now have my name and mobile number, feel free to text me. And those with my address, well. I don't think I need any hookers, police, pizza or anything. I never was really security conscious as I trusted all the people around me, so today I have learnt a lesson. So those posts that are edited, maybe PM's that have been sent, and threads that have been posted, they're not mine. Yet rather 'Team Ryan' . Also I had be 3KSP stolen, so I cannot change my userbar back. I've become rather disapointed with what I thought was a community within SL, but there are still great members out there. Not everyone can be trusted. RE: Sooo I got doxed and hacked - BlueScreen - 12-02-2013 Vouch 4 op. Had interesting 26 second call with him about how to warm up my balls. Don't send him pizza unless you paid for it over the phone tho. RE: Sooo I got doxed and hacked - Oni - 12-02-2013 Well, to be fair, would you really be disappointed if someone sent you pizza or prostitutes? They'd be saving you the trouble. It's a bit pathetic kids are still releasing personal information on people (as if you can't find anyone on Google). Also, they didn't "hack" you, you were probably using the same password on multiple sites. And most likely, it is/was the password I use where I don't mind being compromised. AKA noobie sites. (Not implying SL was a noobie site) RE: Sooo I got doxed and compromised - BreShiE - 12-02-2013 HMU on BBM bro. RE: Sooo I got doxed and compromised - iHydra - 12-02-2013 I've never cared for my basic personal information. My name and basic public information is out there. Won't take too long to search me up on Google/FB to find me. But address and such would be very hard for one to get since I moved recently so all info online is outdated. People think DoX'ing is great and they're pros but grabbing public info isn't hard. Just ignore them and if anything happens, you can call your local police department and talk to detectives for them to open a case on you to look into everything. Transparency is becoming a more and more viable option, mainly because people are starting to realize how much of footprint they leave online. The government is starting to realize "swatting" is an issue and pizza stores already know that prank orders are placed occasionally. Anonymity, as great as it can be, isn't exactly viable when you use a username or plan on forming relationships with people. Fun Infographic: Spoiler:![]() |
