america - peekyboy - 06-19-2023 So whats up with florida banning history under "critical race theory" so white kids "don't feel bad" about their past? seems ridiculous. its like if the germans didn't teach their kids about the nazis.. lmao america RE: america - bidowhab - 07-06-2023 With all due respect to Americans it has been getting very ridiculous, the things they try to do to not look racist, to not be offensive and it gets very abusable sometimes, it's like trying to show sympathy with animals so you save a deer from a lion, destroying the entire eco-system in the process RE: america - Boudica - 07-06-2023 (07-06-2023, 01:46 PM)bidowhab Wrote: With all due respect to Americans it has been getting very ridiculous, the things they try to do to not look racist, to not be offensive and it gets very abusable sometimes, it's like trying to show sympathy with animals so you save a deer from a lion, destroying the entire eco-system in the process Comparing destruction of the ecosystem to trying to find ways not to offend people seems extreme! I am rather disappointed by a lot of what I've heard recently. I'm not against finding ways to introduce better mindsets around mental health in students, and about being more sensitive in how teachers deliver material to kids, but some of what I'm hearing sounds so unhealthy for the kids. I recently heard some children are choosing to identify as animals and one school actually got that child a litter tray. And yes, the litter tray was being used. There is no way on this earth that kind of behaviour from teacher or student is acceptable. Kids and young people need to be given tools and skills to help them cope and thrive in the real world. Some of these efforts seem exactly opposed to that goal. People are just gong to get hurt, and become more segregated with divisive attitudes. It's helping no-one. RE: america - Roanokay - 08-22-2023 They just went from one extreme to the other. Although the real world needs a balance. |
