Sinisterly User Map - lux - 10-15-2013
The Idea:
So me and some other members came up with the idea to create an interactive HTML/CSS/JS (Those fancy hover-thingy-ma-bob webpages that we all love) globe of all the users on Sinisterly. We're currently in very early stages of planning and we're looking for a good team to put this together. We have a little bit of interest from Oni so hopefully we'll turn this into a great addition for the forum! We will not have sensitive information on this map, just your city at most. The map will allow users to bond easier with fellow members as you'll know "who's local". This is not a way of meeting people in real life, just a neat addition to the forum and user base.

The Community:
Obviously we're not going to just take your location and make it visible on the map. Hopefully we'll be able to integrate it with Sinisterly to automatically take your location on your profile and use that. (This is of course if we have Oni's permission.) If you want to help us and feel you have the programming and design knowledge to do so, please leave a reply or PM me to join the team. If not make sure to leave your thoughts and feedback!

It would help more people get to know each other, and see how much our userbase has grown.

Is this similar to the activity lights on the call of duty multiplayer globe?
I think the idea is neat, but would it tell where each person is specifically or just a dot on the map to represent a person?

There will be no sensitive information anywhere, even not in the backend. That way if it's compromised somehow nobody is at risk. It'll be country-area
