A specialized diet? - Exiled - 09-09-2013 Hey guys, So it has been 2~4 weeks that I've been going to the gym and lately, I've realized that I ain't eating so well, taking dumps at unexpected times than usual. I feel kinda weird, and a bit weak. I DO try my best to eat as much as I can but most of the times my stomach would say no. Any advice I can take from a person who has been a gymnast? It would deeply help if so. RE: A specialized diet? - Harvey - 09-09-2013 What are your fitness goals again? If it's to gain weight, the answer is simple. What most people who start going to the gym don't realise is that bulking up isn't done in the gym. It's done in the kitchen. When you're forcing yourself to get that one more rep, you need to be forcing yourself to take that one more bite or one more spoonful. You think you're eating enough? You're not. Plain and simple. It doesn't matter how much you're currently eating, try to eat twice as much. Be eating constantly. If you aren't feeling bloated for a good portion of the day, you're not eating enough. If you can eat a stupid amount of food, and train hard once or twice a day, the results will show (after 4 weeks minimum). First off, I do twenty minutes run on the treadmill, then the upper body, then the lower body. In total, it takes me 2 hours to finish off my work out excluding the 20 minutes run. Occasionally, me and my mate will swim if we feel like it. My theory is, lose that weight, once that's done start gaining and convert the stuff you're gaining into muscle. Two hour gym sessions doing full-body workouts is generally not the most effective way to go about things. But if you're eating lots and working extremely hard for two hours, I can't see a problem with it. I'd rather do two one-hour sessions (one in morning and one in evening). That way you are burning carbs throughout the day and aren't storing fat after your workout when you continue eating. If you're a beginner, you should be able to burn fat and gain muscle at the same time (depending on your metabolism and of course how hard you work). If you can hit the gym twice a day (ease into it initially) and can eat like a mad man, you will see some excellent results. The only reason this could go badly is if you don't eat enough. ![]() RE: A specialized diet? - Exiled - 09-09-2013 (09-09-2013, 01:04 PM)Harvey Wrote:I eat what mom makes and sometimes I eat a cheese burger meal or something like that, but I've never planned on getting protein shakes, cause I think that's only for advanced gymnasts.(09-09-2013, 01:01 PM)Exiled Wrote:(09-09-2013, 12:53 PM)Harvey Wrote: So I'm guessing you're currently the skinny-fat type?
