Social | The musical aspects of mainstream society. - Evangelist - 09-03-2013 I will be addressing the music industry to switch it up from religion topics. The musical industry is pure trash, when was the last time you heard a “hit” mainstream artist that actually has talent? People like Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Drake and many others are famous just because they are famous. No real musical talent and a blind monkey could write better lyrics, again I do not make claims I cannot prove. Here is a song from Lil Wayne Supposedly this was a diss record directed to Jay – Z now, the first verse in which Jadakiss raps is totally irrelevant to the actual song’s purpose. Completely irrelevant, Drake’s verse just curses a lot and actually doesn’t say much calling one of the oldest and pioneers of rap (Jay-Z)a kid really? It’s actually humorous. And Lil Wayne bragging about being a gangster and so on, just empty words with no meaning, The rhymes where not even good, I can write a song and say “nigga” a million times too. Now compare Lil Wayne to Immortal Technique, Tech N9ne, Hopsin and so on. It’s humorous that those idiots who really have no talent make it and be millionaires when talented artists care more about their music than their image. Mainstream artists are just shallow artists that portrait a picture of mediocrity. Now let’s compare a song from Immortal Technique. As you can see they actually use relevant lyrics with aggressive passion and complex vocabulary, adding emotion to their music. These artists are BARELY known. Is this actually fair? No. Quoting Immortal Technique “If your message ain’t shit fuck the records you sold, cause if you go platinum it has nothing to do with luck, it just means that a million people are stupid as fuck” This concludes my address to the musical industry, I already gave you a hint and now you keep comparing. And to finish this section another quote from Immortal Technique “Watch out” Quote:Cause EMI, Sony BMG, Interscope RE: Social | The musical aspects of mainstream society. - Harvey - 09-09-2013 Words can't describe how much better Immortal Technique is than Lil Wayne. LW is getting a lot of hate lately which is good. People are starting to realise what real music is. Lil Wayne is just a cancer cell in a cancer infected area. RE: Social | The musical aspects of mainstream society. - Kureo - 10-12-2013 You cannot really label an entire music industry on the fact that you dislike certain artists. Just as you dislike them, someone likes them. Its more or less natural order, dislike exists so that like can exist. I don't agree with your point of new when you're saying that some sort of art, in this case music, is right out bad or not real music. All artists produce some sort of art, be that good or bad, it is still art and art is based on opinion and is neither bad nor good. However, I do agree on your point that famous musical "talents" aren't famous for their music all the time, and some of them are just because they are good at copying someone else. ( Which I see as fake art and that really isn't art. ) RE: Social | The musical aspects of mainstream society. - mig4ng - 10-12-2013 (10-12-2013, 11:48 PM)Evangelist Wrote: No they are not, they are still worshiping other idiots. It's opinion, some people like Drake and some people like Immortal Technique. http://www.reddit.com/r/lewronggeneration also, to that IT song you posted; you sound like you would like this: RE: Social | The musical aspects of mainstream society. - Evangelist - 10-13-2013 (10-12-2013, 11:54 PM)Ichi Wrote: You cannot really label an entire music industry on the fact that you dislike certain artists. Anybody who believes that Lil Wayne, Drake, or any of those actors are good they are not educated on the music they are listening to, it is not real rap. Rap was made as a passive protest against the abuse people faced. How is bragging about money and how many bitches you have fucked or still fuck real rap? They carry no message or a purpose other than getting money. Most people that like them are going by sounds and not lyrics or message. I don't know what fucking planet you're on, but Biggie and Tupac rapped about that shit all the time. And to certain people, the sound says more than the actual lyrics. The sound is music, the sound is the art. The lyrics are art on their own, they are not the same, they are two different arts of the same tree. You can say that both of them are not the original real rap that started it all, but times changes and so does art types and names. You can say that they don't carry any meaning to you or a meaning you can think of, but simply because you think or can't think of it doesn't mean it isn't there. Tupac did not only rapped about that. He had a message, he fought for African-American equality, and rights. What have they done? Nothing. I don't mind if some of the songs are that way, but all of them? (10-13-2013, 12:25 AM)Ichi Wrote: And to certain people, the sound says more than the actual lyrics. Okay, listen to a song about Lil Wayne and give me a meaningful message. |
