A wonderful conversation with a Christian priest. - Evangelist - 08-23-2013 My wife being a Christian and me being a Satanist have inspired a lot of controversy in the church she goes to. The priest who preaches the word of god and my wife arranged a conversation and it was somewhat interesting. I talked to the guy who devoted his life to god and is god’s “messenger” This conversation I remember perfectly because it showed me that not all Christians are stubborn and judgmental I can never forget something that actually meant a lot to me He was looking at me with puzzled eyes as he was expecting me to wear black and filled with pentagrams. He told me himself. He proceeded to ask questions of my beliefs. “What are your views on confession and Christianity” – The term confession is very pointless to me and I will explain why, people ask for forgiveness and never actually learn. That is the same with confession, The Satanist does not actually believe in humiliating himself and begging for forgivingness. You would think that people learn but, they don’t with a convenient escape from punishment (confession) they can cheat on their wives and just go to church to a person like you and you will relieve them from any guilt or punishment and then cheat again knowing he will be forgiven. A Satanist prefers to learn from his mistakes and IF he is truly sorry he will make sure he doesn’t commit them again. “People do learn from their mistakes and short comings and if god sees true repent and sincerity he will indeed forgive them, remember that lying is also a sin” – But, god is not there to whisper to you if he is lying or not now is he? You cannot speak for everybody as I can’t speak for everybody, perhaps there is people who learn from their mistakes and perhaps there is people who don’t. “But if you do not believe in confession how will you be saved?” – I do not believe in hell either, or heaven for that matter and or even souls, I cannot fear what does not exist right? In fact, if God was all loving and forgiving I do believe he would not send us to eternal roast and torture because we failed a couple of times or we didn’t acknowledge his presence, that would also mean that other cultures that do not believe in your God will burn in hell, without knowing and that doesn’t seem to be fair. “Remember that ignorance is different from denial, if you do know about Christ and you deny it then you can be condemned to eternity, the worse person is the one that refuses to see” – That is fine, but you can’t sit there and actually look at me in the eyes and tell me you have never questioned your own beliefs “Well yes I have and I can surely any person that has a belief system has in fact doubted about their beliefs” – I can somewhat agree, I have also looked back and asked me if a life paved with vengeance is the best one. “Son, vengeance does more bad than good “Who he seeks vengeance must remember to dig two graves” – Not entirely, we have all felt anger and even hatred, I can say the same for you, our take on vengeance is not going to the person and stabbing him to death but to release anger and stop it before it consumes you, in fact some therapists believe that to be one of the best ways to let go of resentment and anger. “Then that really wouldn’t be vengeance?” Well I forgot to mention to you about the destruction ritual or better known as a curse, we symbolically destroy our enemy, but if the curse actually causes he’s decay we should rejoice. “That just seems over the top and not to say that it’s completely evil” – Yeah well what if the person raped and killed a person who you loved dearly and somehow he gets killed wouldn’t you be happy? “Christianity is about atonement, forgiveness, I do not believe in destroying somebody when I could do what God taught us and forgive them, remember he died in the cross and forgave everybody who harmed him” – And that is your role model? A person who gave up and just left himself die for the “Good” of others? Satanism is about survival and being strong not about dying and forgiveness. That is totally outrageous and disgusting to me. “He was sent to die to show us what true love is and he lived a life of perfection” – I in no way believe he was an actual saint. You are more familiar with the deadly 7 sins that I am so when he claimed himself to be the King of Kings don’t you think that is pride? What about when we idolize somebody else instead of him he condemn us is that not wrath and envy? “Human qualities and short comings cannot be attributed to Jesus the son of God” – To me that sounds like an excuse “Is that why you are in Satanism? Because you hate the church and you are rebellious?” – No, I am here because I chose a life of moral freedom. I live a life of complete social de-attachment, I do not follow anybody and anything other than my instincts. “Sounds like you are living like an animal” – We are animals, look at the theory of evolution, our origin? “We were created by God, not originated from monkeys” – Sure you were, there is actually more proof of the theory of evolution than there is of Adam and eve. “Do you actually believe that Satan will reward you for your acts of vengeance?” – No sir, I do not believe in Satan, he is a myth just as God. “Why are you calling yourself a Satanist if you are an atheist?” - Well Satan to us is a symbol of freedom, pride, the adversary, the one to question, the accuser . He Is nothing but a symbol, if we believed in Satan we would be reverse Christians and do rip off Christianity by using their mythology and praising the Christian god Satan. We also despise devil worshippers and you do. They are a cancer and not to mention they are giving actual Satanism a terrible name. “It’s easy to think you guys sacrifice animals or humans when you wear a label as controversial as Satanism” – I do agree, after all Satan is the guy everybody hates “Haha, well hate is a strong word but, when you take everything apart it’s true, we all hate Satan” – I figured as much “So you have a problem with me because of my beliefs?” – Not at all, in fact we do need people like you, if everybody was a Satanist there would be no care for anybody and not to mention if somebody doesn’t like you they will not help you. That clears my doubts of your attempts to dominate the world” – There was never a plan to do so, we don’t want Satanists to rule, we want nature to do that “Well you seem like a bright young man, I would like if you visited Church along side your wife often I might have some more questions” – Wait, you are not trying to convert me? Well other priests would do that but, I do not believe in forcing my views on you, you will come to terms with yourself and hopefully with the grace of God you will be saved. We are always looking to save souls but, at the right time” – The first Christian to say that to me. If more where like you them more people would be comfortable with Christians and not run away from you . That was almost all of the conversation, it was longer but, those were the questions I remembered, he was actually a very great person, a person who is pleasant to be around. The first one I have met in my life. I would not hesitate to spend a day with him. RE: A wonderful conversation with a Christian priest. - Guardian - 08-23-2013 I always enjoy intelligent and thought-provoking conversations. Not one where fear and blind hatred is touted about. Nice post too. +Rep. RE: A wonderful conversation with a Christian priest. - Nil - 08-23-2013 I enjoyed the read. I really don't have anything to add but I just wanted to thank you for sharing it. RE: A wonderful conversation with a Christian priest. - Evangelist - 08-23-2013 It was eye opening to me, despite the drastic religion opposition he maintained a decent level of emotional DE-attachment and managed to have a civil conversation and so did I. I would love to meet more Christians like this RE: A wonderful conversation with a Christian priest. - Eclipse - 08-24-2013 Interesting. That was a good read. Thank you for sharing. It really made me think. RE: A wonderful conversation with a Christian priest. - OversouL - 08-24-2013 I actually read the whole thing and what a very nice conversation. It is truly worthy to be shared with everybody. I hope I can hear more interesting stories from you Evangelist.

That is a great possibility, if he talks to me again then fine but, I won't be searching him for another conversation. RE: A wonderful conversation with a Christian priest. - Harvey - 08-25-2013 Very enjoyable interview, Evangelist. Although he comes across as a typical Christian, avoiding the tough questions and responses with more questions, I'm glad he wasn't too forthcoming in trying to convert you.
