The Conjuring - Gingie - 07-19-2013

Scariest fucking movie I've ever seen....Plus just the fact that it's based on a true story.....

RE: The Conjuring - Anizeb - 07-19-2013

That's just a marketing ploy.
It's not like there's any authority checking in on whether movies that are "based on a true story" actually have any grain of truth within.

And even if they did base it on real events, who's to say what events are the real ones?
Maybe it contains a scene where they went to the store. The writer probably went to the store, right? So now the movie is based on true events.

:l

That said, the only horror movies that scare me are ones revolving around ghosts or other similar supernatural forces. So I might see it. Horror movies aren't the same when they aren't scary, yeah?

Welp xD. I really thought this movie was based on a true story.... I know haunting in Connecticut was definitely made up xD

Just believe in the back of your head the the movie is real so it becomes more scarier.

The movie it self looks pretty decent, but i pretty much stopped downloading because they are boring.

RE: The Conjuring - Love - 07-19-2013

I don't even waste my time on scary movies in theaters anymore..
They all end up being boring.

Well I did research on the actual facts, and the doll is 100% Hollywood...

There's the difference between the real one, and Hollywood..

Also, they didn't even make the house look the same..At least in A Haunting In Connecticut it kinda looked similar(Top Is Hollywood)

Oh and on top of it what they don't do or say in the movies, is that the families came together and did a seance..The Warren family actually made it worse being there..
The daughter actually wrote three books about the entire ordeal. Here's something about her and the farmhouse

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, anyone?
It might just be the childhood scarring, but I still find that to be the one true horror.

Remakes of the movie are shit, but the original is good. How about the original Amityville??
