As I'm currently on my mobile phone I noticed the chat is gone, is there a way to enable it or does it not work on mobile?

I have no idea that it doesn't work on mobile, I'm currently on my desktop and the chat works fine here.
So I think it's your mobile phone.

I think you have to get the app if your on a mobile device.

A large amount of forums are compatible with it, not to mention AF. I'd say it's worth the $5. If you're too cheap, you could always download the .APK or jailbreak your iOS device.
