Introduction:

-To millions of players world-wide, Minecraft is an escape, a place to have fun after that stressful day. To many, the best part of Minecraft is the Multiplayer aspect. Many players, actively use the Multiplayer aspect; Running around, whether it be building in creative, or raiding your rival faction, there is an endless amount of fun and exciting adventures in the world of Minecraft. There seems to be one thing that ruins the game for many, hackers and corrupt/bad administrators. Hackers are a legit players worst nightmare. There is nothing you can do about them except face your imminent death. An administrator is there to make sure that everyone is following the rules and not cheating. Although this is their job, many disregard their duty and just flash around that prefix and think they're gods and they can do what ever they want. In this guide, I will help teach you to become a better Administrator.

Grammar:

-As an Administrator, you are to set the example. You are to be the perfect player on a Minecraft server. You are the image of the server. Being an Administrator is to be a role-model for all other players to follow. It is essential you use good grammar. Personally, if I see an Administrator on a server without proper grammar, I leave as I know that if they pick Administrators that cannot use proper grammar, they aren't a professional staff and the server isn't ran very well. When being an Administrator remember that you are the first person someone sees when they first join. You have to make the good first impression or they will be less likely to come back.

Chat:

-It is your duty to be helpful, kind, and courteous. Trash-Talking and Calling Players Names is an absolute no no. There is no need to call players name. If they are calling you names, just and if they keep doing it, just simply mute them for like 15 minutes. Like said above, you are to be the role model. You need to be the bigger person in situations, not stooping down to the "shut the fuck up or im banning you" level.

-You must be helpful. You cannot just expect the players to answer questions as it seems only the seasoned veterans know the answers. You are an administrator for a reason. You are there to HELP and to MODERATE. If you do not help, you are not an administrator. If you do not moderate, you are not an administrator.

Treatment:

-Treatment is a critical part when Administrating. You must treat players and fellow mods alike, with respect, professionalism and fairness. Similar to what was said above, you must respect players. You cannot trash-talk them or cuss at them. You are supposed to be better than that. You must be as professional as possible. You are there to help, you are there to serve the players. When being an Admin, you must give up a lot of the fun aspects, but you are doing it for a good cause, to help make the game more fun for the majority. It is essential you treat everyone the same and with fairness. You cannot give you friends special treatment. You cannot give them advantages over others, such as spawning them items or letting them get away with hacking. You must be fair towards all and try to not be bias. I say try because it is impossible to get rid of all bias. Every decision you make is sub-conscienceless affected and there is nothing you can do about that. There will always be those annoying players you don't like and that friend you love to talk to, but you need to try as hard as possible to make it fair for everyone.

Hackers:

-You HAVE to know the current hacks. You must familiarize yourself with all the known hacks. The worst thing that can happen when you are a player is to report a clear hacker and the Administrators don't know that they are hacking as they don't have a full vision on all the hacks out and the hacker is let go, to ruin someone elses' time on the server. All you need to do is take a look around the Minecraft Griefing Section on Hackforums. You'll learn a lot about the current hacks and their abilities.

I appreciate your time and if you have any suggestions or anything I should add, feel free to post or PM me.

I think the biggest quality in an administrator is not taking shit. I see admins all the time get trolled by a bunch of guys and they do nothing about it because they don't want to deal with it. Strict admins are good admins.
