Ubisoft Confirms A New Prince Of Persia - Feat - 07-04-2013
After 3 years of waiting, Prince of Persia is finally getting another installment to its popular franchise. There is a catch though, it is for mobile devices. After a series of image teasers, developer Ubisoft has finally come clean on the possibility of a new Prince of Persia title. Unfortunately, the news isn’t what many fans were hoping for. Rather than a dazzling next-gen reincarnation that most were calling for, the new addition to the series, Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame is set to debut on mobile devices, iOS and other mobile devices.
“The game’s experience can still be extended through social connectivity, allowing you to unlock achievements and ascend the leaderboards or share scores with Facebook integration,” Ubisoft in a charitable comment."
The Shadow and the Flame will be done in 2D-style and make use of a now-popular celshaded aesthetic. According to Ubisoft, the game occurs roughly ten years after the conclusion of the original. This is a let down to most, especially those who were hoping to see a reincarnation of the series for the next generation consoles. This is surely to be another hit for Ubisoft, who were recently victims of a security breach. The game is set to be released on July 25th for Android and iOS devices.
I honestly feel bad for the people who waited 3 years to hear about a new Prince of Persia, only to hear its a mobile game, thats just a kick in the ass honestly. I think that they should've either made a new one or a reinstallment for the next-gen consoles since they seem like the most important thing in gaming news this time of the year.
