Sunrise and Bandai Namco Merging - Oni - 02-09-2022 Sunrise will be merging into Bandai Namco this April. Both are known for amazing anime, so hopefully they stay the same. The holding company will merge its movie-producing subsidiaries — including Sunrise — to form a new company named Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. While Sunrise will lose its name, Bandai Namco promised that it will retain its individuality as a brand. This impacts a company in a huge way, especially if it's a smaller-style company as Takamatsu describes it was in the 90s. People often think about companies as these big entities, when in reality they are a grouping of a bunch of people. If the people change, the company changes. It's simple. |
