The groundbreaking title released in its initial form in 2019, followed by a well-received Disco Elysium: The Final Cut edition in Spring 2021. Its subversive choice-based gameplay, prescient political commentary, powerful narrative, and unique aesthetic were some of the traits that made it among the most discussed and beloved RPGs of the past few years.

This unofficial Game Boy version of Disco Elysium follows the same narrative skeleton of the original, where players are thrust into the shoes of an unnamed amnesiac detective in the fictional city of Martinaise. Players are then tasked with solving a grisly execution-style murder while uncovering the secrets of the protagonist's past. Along the way, players engage with a charming cast of characters and navigate through the game's insanely complex and branching dialog trees. Traditional RPG mechanics like combat encounters are replaced with eloquently written social exchanges where the player has to choose what kind of character they want to inhabit within the context of Disco Elysium's bleak world.
