[TuT] Creating HQ Thread Separators - Exotic - 06-21-2013

Hello, DB. I'm going to share with you a great TuT that really helps me create HQ threads and divide other work. This is extremely easy and will definitely stick with you through any work you may do.

1) Open up photoshop and create a new canvas. (700x300 will be fine for this tutorial)

Spoiler:

2) Change the canvas color to #222222 (To predict how it will look on DB)

3) Create a straight line across the canvas

4) Create a new layer, then right click the dashed line and select stroke

5) Enter 1 Pixel and set the color to black then click OK

6) Press Ctrl + D on your keyboard to Deselect (Or go to Toolbar > Select > Deselect)

Now we have a straight line, if you wish to keep it this way then you are done, but for this tutorial I am going to show you how to make it look like the line is engraved into the page.

7) Right click the layer that you made with the line going across the canvas and select "Blending Options"

8) Scan the options on the left of the window until you see "Drop Shadow"

9) Add the following settings then click OK

10) Fade away the edges of the line with the eraser tool

Now you need to save this correctly

File > Save for Web > PNG-24 > Save

**Optional**

11) Make the first layer hidden by clicking the eye in the layer panel.

Congratulations, you have successfully made an engraved separation line. Your final image should look like this
