My Logo and Banner thing - Nam Duong - 06-20-2013
So, I wanted to make a logo for fun, so I made a mock up of it. I also made a banner for my FB page, so yea... Also, I can't decide wether to name it Nam Designs or Nom Designs.

Banner thing. I didn't spend much time on this, I also added that weird gloss. Eh, might fix it up later.

I really like the second one, it's simplistic but the foreground contrasts well with the background.

Neither of them look complex, nor do they look like any time was put into them.. Second one is definitely better though.

Really? Do you know anything about this area of design? I usually don't get mad at this, but seriously... Logos aren't suppose to be complex. Have you taken a look at all the other professional logos out there? T-Mobile, Samsung, they all have simple shapes and text.
And as for the banner, I'm not going to play the "Lets see how much layer styles I can fit into a piece" game. It's a minimalistic background. I don't see why all pieces have to be complex and difficult to create?
Sorry for sounding like I'm raging, but I'm just trying to make my point here.

Not a fan of the rounded edges on the logo, maybe a more straight-edged cut image would suit it.
Also, not a fan of the font used for the "Design" part of the banner.

Thanks for the feedback. If my illy was working right now, I would change the logo, but sadly, I could not. I'll change the design part though, that was actually my least favorite part about it

It's not really about you expressing your opinion. I'm only mad about how you think it was simple and thought I didn't put much work or effort into it.

Ah, my bad. I didn't mean it like that. It's more along the lines of, you thought logos were suppose to be complex and that my logo was too simple and not much effort was put into it.
