So, will Facebook pull the trigger and change its name? Maybe it's an attempt to dominate the conversation around the, metaverse, which has been around for years, perhaps to follow Google’s own reorganization around Alphabet or to simply create some distance from all the negative publicity, sentiment and impressions that Facebook is now associated with.
If the change is metaverse related, it could be very important to the company’s unreleased social virtual reality world called Horizon Worlds.

To me this seems to be a branding move to dodge all the pressure and scrutiny facebook has seen recently. Very interesting to see them talk about a virtual social media world.

Zuckerberg looks like he hasn't slept for 2 weeks.
Until users adapt to the new name, I think they'll still refer to It as Facebook for quite a while.
