Asus X Noctua 3070 - Ugly Performance - Oni - 10-01-2021

Noctua makes excellent fans, but their brown/off-white ones are pretty much the opposite of RGB.

Ugly is as ugly does, I guess. I instantly went for the chromax.black when I bought my D15S.

Listed over at EEC last month, it looks like ASUS themselves have confirmed that they are working with Noctua in developing a new custom lineup of graphics cards that will feature Noctua cooling. Not only is it confirmed but ASUS's Sales Representative for the Vietnamese market has shared pictures of the custom cooling solution over at the ASUS ROG Vietnam Facebook page.

Yuk.

When advertising, appearance plays an Important role to entice consumers to purchase the product. This makes me look the other way, and opt for a more attractive alternative.

They would look okay if the whole case matched the color scheme. But when 95% of parts are black, white, or RGB, good luck finding beige...

I had this long thing written about Noctua being the choice for enterprise environments when brown and beige was the professional's colors, but then I realized that's completely false.

I like Noctua performance but for someone who's never used their stuff this would be an almost instant turn off.

Every time I look at it, it gets uglier. Thank god for chromax.black.

I swapped my build's cheapo fans with some regular Noctuas and I swear I'm close to either going back cheap RGB or chromax

I personally never pay attention if hardware products are good looking or not (I don't get at all this trend of everything having RGB, what a waste of LEDs and energy and money), I've always liked Noctua for their performance and have never cared one second about that ugly brown; only quality & cost have my interest.
