I think he's a boring man who markets to faux-intellectuals for money and this is another example of that.

Why anyone worships a man who's greatest accomplishment is stealing Tesla from two other creators is beyond me. Discounting his little publicity stunts, he's nothing but another boring investor.

Thats the thing. Musk may be only an investor in Tesla, but he surely didn't make it boring. He really helped with keeping Tesla going through struggles. Other investors probably would have pulled out long ago, especially since what happened to American car manufactures in 2008.

Well, he stole Tesla by what's a bordering-on-illegal hostile takeover. Essentially, this makes him just someone who owns a company helping said company go through struggles via viral marketing. Again: Very boring and typical. Tesla doesn't even really innovate as nearly anything it proposes has already been done or is being done by other car companies. The fact is that he's only "interesting" because he appeals to the massive Reddit audience, but he's really just some CEO who markets his awkwardness.

Even in the best of days he... What? Saved a company? Angel investors have existed long before Musk's very birth. This does not make him interesting or even unique.

true.

Ive always viewed him as a completely empty shell of a man without personality.
he sits there in his 'moments of truths' and just says completely normal stuff.
put a psycho in the same place and it would atleast be entertaining to watch.
all thats important in his world is just making money and rushing the process of colonizing mars,
which he wont even get to experience in his life. i mean, this would sound crazy, but what if he would
actually have real opinions on things. what if he was kind of a patriotic, right wing extremist,
atleast then he wouldnt give of the impression of being this robot-like shell of a man he is.

Musk uniqueness and fandom is more focussed around SpaceX and his dreams for space exploration i think. However yeah, he knows how to market his awkwardness i agree with that.
