Quote:Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals.

Fauci says Expect 'a flood' of COVID-19 vaccine mandates after full FDA approval

Quote:As soon as the Food and Drug Administration issues a full approval for a COVID-19 vaccine, there will be "a flood" of vaccine mandates at businesses and schools across the nation.

Mandates aren't going to happen at the federal level, but vaccine approval will embolden many groups, he predicted.

"Organizations, enterprises, universities, colleges that have been reluctant to mandate at the local level will feel much more confident," he said.

"They can say: 'If you want to come to this college or this university, you've got to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this plant, you have to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this enterprise, you've got to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this hospital, you've got to get vaccinated.'"

I still won't get it. Even if required to rent/own a home. Can you imagine the uproar if the approval was denied?

Wait, I'm confused. Has this not been out for ages? Or is it a new version of Pfizer? Or was it available but never FDA approved?

Both my jabs we Pfizer (I'm in the UK).

No, it was not FDA approved yet. They just did today.

Same here, precisely this day last week.

I was told I need to wait 4 weeks for the second shot. Is It the same with yourself?

Answering your question from own experience, yes 4 weeks seems regular from everyone I know/myself.

Thanks for that.

I wasn't sure whether It was specifically related to my locality, or If It's a requirement by law/protocol.
I'll definitely get the second shot.

I think there was something like 8-10 weeks for mine. However, that was months ago when they were still bringing in doses and they had not long been approved. I'm not sure if that's still the case.

Yeah 4 weeks for me as well. Looking forward to it. 2nd one for Pfizer should in theory be a bit harsher on me, who knows if I will only receive a small arm/muscle ache like last time, or it's fever time lmao.
