I have a very bad case of Addictive Personality, and I get that trait from both of my parents. My father is a drunk/druggie and my mother is a recovering addict(3 years clean). It's a struggle because for most of my life there is always something that it takes a hold onto. For most of my life, for example, it has been video games. I can play video games all the time for an excessive amount of time in just a single sitting. I also picked up the habit of cigarettes at the age of 14, and it's still stuck with me to this day.

Sorry to hear. Doubt video games will prevent you from living a productive/long life. Smoking might, but I know people that smoked 50+ years and they're still kicking.

It can get in the way of productivity, I have to actively remind myself that there are more important things to do or I will just continue playing. I almost missed an onboarding activity for my new job because of it the other day. As for the smoking, when my time comes I will be ready so-
