Looks like a pretty good game, reminds me of Mother. Should be released sometime this year.

Grabbed the preorder last minute, can't wait to play it tonight. I'd been revisiting Mother 1+2 and 3 recently.

Pokemon Stadium had 3D, so I wouldn't say 3D is always bad. Pokemon Go (and Union) definitely took a piss on the trajectory of the series, though.

I mean moreso the mainline games, since I don't believe Stadium was made by Game Freak? If so, then I'm just stupid.
Games like Stadium and Gale of Darkness kind of don't really spring to mind when I say "3d pokemon bad" if only because it really feels like much more development went into the game to the point that, hell, I think it still has more move animations than Sword and Shield? There's definitely a laurel-resting feel to most Pokemon games, in my opinion.
I suppose this slighting comment is meant more for Game Freak than just Pokemon itself.

Only played an hour or two so far, but it's very enjoyable. The art/story has a very unique feel and it doesn't seem rushed. Plenty of minigames and puzzles.
