Your best holiday? - Jiggly - 05-15-2021 What's the best holiday you've ever been on? Where did you go? How long? And what did you get up to that made it so special? Asides from meeting Oni, my best holiday would have to be one of my trips to Scotland, among the Scottish highlands not far from the Cairngorm mountains. I stayed in a place called Moutain Bear Lodge. It's absolutely stunning: Both the view and the lodge. We went up and down the mountains on their trams, went kayaking in the lochs (lakes) and explored local towns. There's castles and old ruins to visit, great food and stunning locations for wildlife too. Here's a 7 minute video of a guy giving a tour of the lodgings! RE: Your best holiday? - mothered - 05-15-2021 Quote:Asides from meeting OniAw, that's so sweet. I've been to Bali many times and loved each and every trip. The people are very friendly and welcoming to tourists and the amazing part Is, they have no hesitation In putting a name to a face years down the track. The moment you're Introduced, they don't forget you. Once restrictions are lifted with the COVID-19 situation, I plan to go again. RE: Your best holiday? - fenderbassjazz - 05-15-2021 I went to the coast of Israel a few years back for a week and a half. Despite what you might hear the people are very friendly, food and weather are always top tier. It's a shame about the rising tensions as it's a beautiful country with plenty to visit, I hope to be able to go again someday. I was watching a tv show about this comedian who was going on a travel show to places that aren't usually popular with tourists due to the perceived image of those countries. But they showed how unique each country is. Your post reminded me of that. RE: Your best holiday? - mothered - 05-16-2021 (05-15-2021, 09:29 PM)Jiggly Wrote: Oh wow. That's so interesting! I imagine flight/travel costs are going to be bumpy for the foreseeable future too. RE: Your best holiday? - Mr.Kurd - 05-16-2021 I have been in several natural places, nearest to nature is the favourite one to me. I love nature and always try to record natural views but sadly cameras vision can't reflect what I can see by naked eyes. I have to mention also that I do climb mountains which gives me amazing feeling RE: Your best holiday? - mothered - 05-16-2021 (05-16-2021, 09:12 AM)Jiggly Wrote: That's fair.
