Netflix Has a V-Tuber Now? - Jiggly - 05-09-2021

Netflix has launched their own V-tuber Ambassador on their Netflix Anime youtube account. Her name is N-ko Mei Kurono. Looks like this v-tuber thing is really trending and spreading to more international companies.

Code:
The Netflix Anime YouTube account debuted its official Virtual YouTuber ambassador on Monday. In her introduction video, the VTuber N-ko Mei Kurono described herself as a "sheep-human lifeform born in California" who is a bilingual employee at Netflix. Her weekly show, titled the "The N-ko Show," will debut on April 30 at 10 a.m. Japan Standard Time. The VTuber will share information about Netflix anime and "information that only employees know." She also has plans to do collaborations with other VTubers, sing songs and stream games. Malaysian airline service AirAsia held auditions for an English-speaking Virtual YouTuber in March.

VTubers are becoming the next ゆるキャラ (yurukyara) it seems. N-ko seems cute, but there's no doubt that these company-VTubers are heartless. VTubers from Hololive and VShojo are VTubers because they enjoy it. And that's reflected through their content. They put much more effort into their streams than 90% of all the other lifeless streamers on Twitch. And I can't find any good examples for broadcaster guidelines put in place by Hololive EN, or VShojo, but I think we can safely assume that an agency built for VTubers would have looser regulations than a company looking for profits.

But, we'll just have to see how this plays out in the next few years. Maybe something good will emerge out of this new trend among corporations.

From my understanding, Cover Corp has some fairly strict regulations and rules. I dont belive they have been released, but I do recall them recently being a point of contention with Haato. That being said, I think that was related to youtube's rules, which they also have to follow. However, talents like Kiryu Coco and Shrikami Fubuki are known to push the envolope. Coco will use use foul laguage, and discuss taboo topics like alcohol and drug use. Fubuki has pushed for more crossover content with the males (holostars) something frowned upon in most idol circles.

And I think we all remember the "Taiwan situation" with Haato & Coco. Which was a pure bullshit coincidence and I'm sure they weren't purposefully mentioning Taiwan to offend any brainwashed citizens.

I was not aware how utterly brainwashed their populace can be, untill that happened. Coco still has her chat in members only mode because of the spam and attacks. Its even spread to guests and collab members who are on with her.

At worst they're just going to make announcements, with a bit of humor thrown in. I don't see it being too much more than that.

They did mention in the article that they'll be playing some video games, though I imagine it would be a bit different to hololives teams.
