Is it possible to locate a GPU? - Tondor - 03-22-2021

Let's assume I have a current GPU from Nividia. Can the company (or police department) locate it?

Well, if it shipped to the wrong location they could probably retrieve it for you. But if you mean the GPU would be lost somewhere and the police would have to search for it like an egg hunt, they wouldn't even try. It would be a waste if their time.

Thank you. What if I install the drivers from their website. Then surely that would be possible or not?

Firstly, even though It cannot be remotely tracked, they would not go through the trouble of tracking a GPU.

If you're concerned about your device being Identified and linked to the GPU while Installing the drivers from the manufacturer's site, simply hit the download on another device and transfer the file(s) to the one In question.

Why didn't I think of that myself? Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. Thank you!

You're welcome.

It's not easy to think of every possibility and event, so I fully understand your position.
