flsun q5 help - Seriium - 02-28-2021 Hey everyone, Bought my first 3d printer (used) yesterday; Hoping someone with experience with the Q5 or 3d printing in general can help; After confirming print, The print head remains at 0x, 0y, 0z on the print bed, And the fans do not turn on. Occasionally after cancelling prints the print head will slam down and drag across the print surface to the back part of the print surface. The print head starts the print, The farthest i’ve gotten is 20% completion on benchy and then the head stops extruding. I'm thinking I should reflash the firmware and get a new nozzle, Any other suggestions? RE: flsun q5 help - mothered - 02-28-2021 Apologies to @phyrrus9 for keep quoting you, but you're one of very few members who's well-Informed with 3D printing. Hopefully you can assist the OP. I solved it with the help of some internet friends, Turns out it was a simple issue, Print nozzle needed to be cleaned, Now I'm off printing "Paperweights", Loving the printer so far RE: flsun q5 help - mothered - 03-01-2021 (02-28-2021, 05:20 PM)Seriium Wrote: I solved it with the help of some internet friends, Turns out it was a simple issue, Print nozzle needed to be cleaned, Now I'm off printing "Paperweights", Loving the printer so far Quote:Print nozzle needed to be cleanedEven the simplest of things can be easily overlooked. Glad you were able to fix it. Though scraping the bed is another issue. Also dont think cleaning would help, but meh. If the nozzle was that stuck you should have been hearing your extruder motor choke, unless you've got an Ender 3 with a cracked tension arm. I fixed it, Turns out it was an issue with firmware and nozzle obstruction, Using pronterface to feed gcode directly into the printer and it's working flawlessly. Though any tips on how to get those smooth, sexy prints? Copper silk filament is a waste when there's gaps every few MMs.. If you're getting gaps between lines then your extruder needs to be calibrated. Either that or you're printing too high. You really shouldn't go over 50% of your nozzle width in terms of layer height. For standard 0.4mm nozzles that means basically 0.2mm max layer height. |
