Does anyone have any strong instincts about NullByte at WonderHowTo? His write-ups seem decent and sometimes exhaustive, but then he also recommends WindScribe VPN... which, judging by the forum, isn't the best.
Thoughts, friends?

I visit the site quite often and while the majority of guides are very Informative and accurate, there are some that need Improving.
As for Windscribe and as with every VPN, It depends on the nature of your online activity. For general navigation without any form of exploitation, Windscribe will certainly suffice. In my experience, It's very stable and responsive.
