Ubuntu or Fedora? - Ronnie - 05-19-2013

Ok I have researched some operating systems to switch to from Windows 7.

Alot of blogs have said Ubuntu and Fedora are the best to switch to from Windows 7 and they are user friendly.

So post below what you think
Ubuntu or Fedora?

I guess I'm kind of late; but if it's your first time using a LinuxOS you should use Ubuntu, as it's the most user friendly LinuxOS.

Ubuntu all the way.

Neither, it's all about that debian 7.

Never used Fedora. I know that Ubuntu is generally accepted as the safest way to go when making the transition. Smile

First timers should go with n00buntu, but if you are confident go with Fedora.

Honestly, my first experiences with Ubuntu weren't all that great. It's user friendly, yes. I first tried it on a laptop and I understand it's rather outdated, but it had the specs to perform without struggle, which it did. Maybe 12.04 wasn't that great, but there were just numerous slow issues and FC's.

Backtrack is a great beginners linux as well.

I never tried both but they say Ubuntu is the best, I might download that later?

i would say Ubuntu because of its User Friendly interface
it would be a good choice for new beginners that want to start using Linux OS
