Should America Legalize Marijuana? - KrisKrox - 05-15-2013 I believe that America, as a whole should legalize marijuana, at least medically. My reasoning for this is because from what I have learned so far about marijuana, it does more help than good. It can help with glaucoma, severe chronic muscle pain, AIDS, and certain types of cancers. I just think that it's about time that America finally legalizes it because if it does more help than damage, why should it be illegal? RE: Should America Legalize Marijuana? - Judas - 05-15-2013 I don't think it will be legalized because it's almost impossible for the government to tax it. That's true. I feel if the government wasn't all about getting money from everything, that wouldn't be a problem. Some states have deemed it legal for recreational use, as well. The law is that for recreational use you need to be at least 21. Medical I believe has no age limit long as your disease is convincing enough for treatment. The states are Colorado and Washington. But in the states that have it medically, there are still federal agents going in and taking all the marijuana in the dispensaries and shutting down the shop. Perhaps one day they too will learn to allow it when they know that if they don't then it will just stay the same as it is now with millions of underground sellers that are making tons of profit while there are sick people who are in need of it for the pain relieving or insomnia. RE: Should America Legalize Marijuana? - Мatt - 05-16-2013 Being a fairly frequent smoker, I don't think it should be legalized. I say that because there are way too many people out there that abuse it. However, I think the amount of money the government can make from it is a lot and probably enough to get us out of most of our debt with other countries. If anything, it should have the same laws as alcohol and can't be smoked when driving and have an age limit behind it. I would be happy if they legalized it for medical purposes at least and removed it from Schedule I and moved it down to Schedule II. I honestly don't even care about medical purposes or not since I'm not 110% educated on the ACTUAL medical benefits other than pain relief and such. I just finished taking a Psychopharmacology class in my school so I know what marijuana does to the body and how it affects certain diseases so I believe medically it could really help. |
