Need assistance with obtaining a degree of Information Technology I.T! - PythonRaze - 08-21-2020

Hello guys, i just wanted to ask a few questions and wanted to know opinions, I'm am attempting to obtain a degree or diploma in I.T Or computer engineering (i heard they were the same thing).) after asking a good friend of mine he said you NEED to be skilled in Algebra Trigonometry and quadratics, (Maths A B C) To be able to complete courses for I.T to be honest i'm wanted to go for a career i love and am passionate in but i'm not the brightest in maths, very shitty to be precise. i wanted to know if this is the same for anyone who tried to get a degree for I.T and what the requirements are also i would love to hear any advice that can help me move forward. ]

Should i choose this career?
Is it profitable?
How hard is it to get the certificates?
And any general advice!

Do you have a genuine passion for It? If not, no.

Define "profitable".

It's only as difficult as the time and effort you plan to generate.

I haven't a single degree In any sector nor attended college, so academically, I cannot personally advise.

I wish you all the very best with It.

All of this is true.

If you're concerned your maths isn't up to standard, get a tutor. I suspect that degree is highly transferable for many careers. However, you asked if it is a career you should choose - yet you mentioned a degree, not a career. What specific jobs would you like to do? The answer to that question, will answer all your other questions.

If you're unsure of career ideas, try doing a job search. See what comes up and what kind of qualifications they want.

For general advice: It's ok to change your mind. There is such a thing as transferring. Don't be afraid to make a mistake. Also, if you have access to a careers advisor - SPEAK TO THEM. This is exactly what they're for. Smile
