Secession petitions filed in 20 states - Edward - 11-13-2012 Quote:In the wake of last week's presidential election, thousands of Americans have signed petitions seeking permission for their states to peacefully secede from the United States. The petitions were filed on We the People, a government website. I don't even think this happened when Bush got elected (then again, nobody was expecting him to serve the way he did). Honestly, it's in the constitution, and I believe states should be allowed to secede. However, many people will argue that it's "un-American" or disrespectful. States like Texas were their own nation at one point and still hold the right to secede. While it's highly unlikely the government will allow a state to peacefully depart the union, I think it says plenty about the dissatisfaction that is present in the American people. Hopefully this will encourage the government to do a better job, rather than discourage them. However, I'll be holding the black-flag if any riots break out. ![]() Source: Yahoo! News RE: Secession petitions filed in 20 states - w00t - 11-14-2012 Shit like this is why everyone else doesn't like Americans. "Yeah, we put these laws in place, and this guy I don't like got elected, so now lets try to make our own government." Bloody hypocrites.
