I heard there's new malware that embeds its self into the Android OS I think?
But I do believe if you just install a new OS then you're okay. I may be wrong though so I'll say True to this.

Sophisticated malware can embed Itself In the firmware, so for peace of mind, It's worth updating It from the manufacturer's site.
