Microsoft to explore using Rust - skeeba - 07-17-2019 This is an announcement, not a question or tutorial. I am very happy to see this news, as I have been following Rust for many years now. The intro: Quote:Microsoft plans to explore using the Rust programming language as an alternative to C, C++, and others, as a way to improve the security posture of its and everyone else's apps. RE: Microsoft to explore using Rust - OversouL - 07-18-2019 This is interesting. I might have to look into rust now since I haven't heard much from it yet. RE: Microsoft to explore using Rust - zorrophreak - 07-18-2019 I've heard good things about Rust and how its possibly a good replacement for the C family but whether Microsoft will make a full switch is definitely yet to be seen. RE: Microsoft to explore using Rust - Pinkz0rd - 07-19-2019 Never heard of it. is it a new language? RE: Microsoft to explore using Rust - Tracefl0w - 07-20-2019 "Developers love it because of its simpler syntax" What? Are they claiming it's simpler than C? RE: Microsoft to explore using Rust - Drako - 07-20-2019 The only problem would be training all of their coders to learn this new language. And obviously programmers for Microsoft are very skilled. Although it's similar to what's already in use, it'd still be a bit of an issue. After reading this I decided to take a closer look at Rust, and it seems really good. I might just start learning it. And since it's similar to C++ that's a bigger turn on for me. RE: Microsoft to explore using Rust - RyanS7634 - 07-21-2019 Great post!. I've never heard about this language. A must read for prospects!
