what anime is cosider Samurai and ninja? - darkninja1980 - 04-04-2019 Rurouni Kenshin and Basilisk RE: what anime is cosider Samurai and ninja? - darkninja1980 - 04-13-2019 Does anyone want to have an open discussion? RE: what anime is cosider Samurai and ninja? - Jiggly - 04-13-2019 I'm a little confused as to what this thread is asking? Elaborate? What animes that are classified as Samurai and ninja? RE: what anime is cosider Samurai and ninja? - Oni - 04-13-2019 I'm not sure if you're asking for examples of each, or differences between the two. Anime I watch tends to involve samurai more so than ninjas. Samurai Champloo, Rurouni Kenshin, and Afro Samurai are definite classics. In terms of differences, samurai were generally upper class that adhered to the bushido code. Ninjas were generally lower class, more suited towards stealth/assassination (and honor wasn't applicable). RE: what anime is cosider Samurai and ninja? - Jiggly - 04-13-2019 I would say the differentiation is more based on their "job" and status as Oni said. Not everyone carrying a katana/sword is a Samurai or Ninja. There were also the Sohei, Ashigaru and Ronin among others. You could say the main character in this show is a Ronin, since he failed to protect his master from being killed. He became a wandering mercenary (Ronin). Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto

I actually tried it right after watching Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto, ironically. No idea if Oni ever did. RE: what anime is cosider Samurai and ninja? - darkninja1980 - 04-15-2019 Samurai Deeper Kyo (TV) is another ninja /samurai anime theme. RE: what anime is cosider Samurai and ninja? - JaffaKree - 04-15-2019 I really enjoyed Samurai Champloo and Afro Samurai but couldn't get into Kenshin. Would like some more recent samurai or ninja animes, the old animes aren't that much appealing to me |
