Does anyone do Competition Shooting? - zorrophreak - 12-21-2018

This year I've been participating in competition shooting with my school and its quite fun. Was wondering if anyone does competition shooting whether scholastic or professional. I'm shooting mainly rimfire 22LR and center fire 9mm SASP but I know some people who do competition fast draw and some other things and its a really fun sport to get into.

Anyone else target shoot in competition?

I always wanted to do clays/skeet competitively, but never gotten the chance. Even better with a rifle. Marksmanship is in my blood, as 2-3 of my relatives have won/placed before.

I'm surprised you've never done competitions. I've seen you shoot and it's impressive to say the least. I'd have loved to have been raised to shoot and tried it. Right now I'm just trying to get passed how much of a scaredy cat I am about shooting.

I like shotgun a good bit and have been going in PSSA Trap competitions since 2013 - I shot a Beretta 682 wide frame up until 2015 and then moved onto a Beretta 687, both in 12 gauge with 26" and 32" barrels.

Past that I've started a bigger interest in historical firearms as repairing and restoration is a big love of mine, so I started shooting in more events for blackpowder (iron sights, I can't stand scopes on older firearms) mainly for rifle at target events or occasionally the local competitive squirrel hunts.

I'd like to try something with more modern firearms nowadays as I shoot a lot of 500-1000m shots at targets around the house but haven't found anything for it in my area.

The closest thing I've come to owning and using a gun, Is the good old slug gun/air rifle.

Obviously I didn't engage In competition, but It was "a lot" of fun back In my younger days.
