Let's have a bit of fun.

This tutorial consist of several life hacks which'll assist you in finishing your education. I utilized several of these methods myself back in high school and college and there's without a doubt several methods you should consider trying.

Note that this is not a tutorial on how to hack the school computers, modify the grade database or deface the school website - I wrote this tutorial as I thought it could help many of you and I thought it would be a different contribution than what I normally work with.

Assignments / Tests

Extra time for Assignments
Spoiler:
If you've failed in making an assignment at time then open any word file in Notepad, you'll see lots of code and you simply have to delete any chunk of it; the file will appear to be corrupt when trying to open it. Another thing is to change the extension of .jpg .mp3 or any other file into a .doc file.

Fake illness
Spoiler:
If you need to appear sick for something, then eat half a cigarette. You'll start sweating, get dizzy, pale and you'll look really ill. About half an hour after eating it you'll vomit everything. It's a dramatic method, but it's effective. Do note that I'm not a doctor and I don't know how this will effect your health, I'm quite sure it won't harm you majorly though.

Increase paper length
Spoiler:
If your paper is just a tiny bit - assuming they look at length and not word count - then do a find/replace for all of your punctuation and make them all 2 font sizes larger. Another trick is to decrease the margins slightly, though there's a greater chance that this will be noticed.
The few extra lines might just be what you needed to conform with legnth guidelines.

Mimic views
Spoiler:
Always take notes on your professors political and philosophical ideologies and world view; this information will benefit you greatly when writing different assignments and will also give you an edge in class if you utilize the knowledge correctly.

Research Assistance
Spoiler:
Find a solid souce which pertains exactly to your thesis, then use the bibliography from this source for more information. Alternatively you can use the bibliography of Wikipedia articles - don't link to wikipedia as source.

Studying

Improve creativity
Spoiler:
If you're doing creative writing and are having trouble being creative, then stop writing on PC and continue with handwriting; writing by hand slows down the process which allows the mind to wander and your creativity is therefore stimulated.

Sensory deprivation
Spoiler:
Force the brain into being creative by laying down on a couch or bed with something thin over your eyes and then close your eyes. Put a radio on static or loop a youtube video with static sounds - don't turn it up too much, but just have it at a medium level so it'll block external inputs to your brain. By blocking external inputs your brain will start creating its own.

Memory boost
Spoiler:
Move your eyes from side-to-side for 30 seconds. Research states that horizontal eye movement makes your brain hemispheres communicate better and will also calm you down a bit.

Improve mental state
Spoiler:
Improve your overall mental state and retention of memories after studying by playing a video games that requires a high level of concentration - Tetris or Bejeweled are examples. This will reduce stress and improve retention.

Make PC read homework
Spoiler:
Should your homework be available online, then don't read it yourself, instead download a text reading program and have it read the text at 2-3 times normal speed. You can lay in bed or do other things and most of the information will still stick, it'll in most cases stick better as you don't stress your eyes and don't get bored.

Kill time wasters
Spoiler:
Download a program that tracks your doings or even enables you to block all sorts of time wasting sites. Knowing exactly how much time you've wasting will make you more productive in the end.

Procrastination
Spoiler:
Tell friends or family about the things you're working on; you wouldn't want to disappoint them or get humiliated and you'll then work harder to accomplish your goals.

Heh. Amazingly, this is actually helpful.
I've done the Word doc trick a few times :p

I can vouch for some of these methods. With the punctuation one, I make a 5 page essay into a 7 page essay. Also I was playing Tetris Battle the other day. Kicking everybody's butts. Then I run out of battery. The fuck is that? So I was forced to stop playing.

@eating half a cig to fake illness, that's bad. You're overdosing on nicotine, and probably some other junk.

@mimic views, the good professors( the ones that are there because they wanted to teach, not because they wanted to publish a book or get research funding ) are actually more likely to grade you highly on views that contradict their own if you present them well. They don't know as much about the opposite argument, and if you do it in such a way the professor knows that you're challenging their view( citing their work for a counterargument was always a favourite ) they will appreciate that you aren't afraid to challenge them. Professors, by and large, are highly intellectual, and intellectuals thrive off of competing viewpoints.

@improved memory, hemisphere coordination has nothing to do with memory. The different parts of your brain are highly specialized to memorize different kinds of things. The only thing this might improve is the amount of time it takes you to vocalize your memory( express it by writing it down/saying it )

I was looking through, and even if a little elementary, it is interesting...
then I came across the eye movement one.
We'll generally, looking left utilises your memory, while looking right utilises your creativity. Up is visual, and down is emotional.
But for some people these are inverced and/or mixed.

And yes, they actually activate different areas of your brain...

An other interesting point... it's not just that your mentality rules your bodylanguage...
but also the opposite... acting different will set on a different mood.

Good luck
