Ask Me Anything (About Design) - Nuance - 07-21-2013 The title is pretty self explanatory. Ask me anything about graphic design. How to make something, how long I have been doing, how to price something, how to break in to the industry, etc. I will answer as many questions as I can. I'm not sure of the exact date, but once day I was making a logo and realized that I had the potential to make art that would be seen by thousands of people and get paid for it. The amount of money I make a day varies a lot. Some days I might make 500$ in a few hours, other days I might make nothing at all. Absolutely not, however working for a design firm is incredibly boring. Most jobs available at companies and firms are positions for production designers. There are a lot of factors going in to the price of any designs. The most important being your experience, the customer, and the size of the project. Larger projects I usually charge an hourly wage, smaller projects are flat rates. As for learning graphics design you should build a foundation that consists of an absolute knowledge of the tool you wish to work with. Once you have that the art is only limited by your creativity.
