I know a lot of users who've selected their usernames, without being based on anything.
I've come across a lot who've randomly hit the keypad on their PC quite a few times, and selected the one that best makes sense.

I had chosen my name because I was just a lonely Kurdish member in a big Arabian forum, and I liked MrKurd without dot, but I saw people using dot so then I added dot to my name, Mr.Kurd forever
