Personally, i would like to prefer you Backtrack. If you are looking for some new releases you should Try Kali Linux or Backbox.

Backtrack and Kali are great for pentesting, exploitation, and such as that.
However, they are most assuredly not made for daily use in a production environment.
As for me personally, I prefer to use their repositories for building my own individual packages that results in the best of both worlds.

That my young friend is not entirely true.
I know an individual who goes by the name of Dedoimedo who for the past 7 years has been booting over a 100 Linux distributions in any number of half a dozen boot scenarios on the same hard-drive[s].
Read here in depth as to who he is http://dedoimedo.com/faq.html and then click on the "home page" to peruse the above statement as to how one may boot any literal given number of operating systems on a singular hard-drive

P.S.-No, I am not Igor Ljubuncic a.k.a. Dedoimedo.

Technically @xtam4 is correct as dual implies 2....

Mint and Ubuntu, why? because they are things that i would rather prefer doing in mint or Ubuntu than in windows 7 to save time.

Technically and Realistically, hold 2 differing meanings in both context and what is applicable.
In this case, Xtam's use of "dual booting" in conjunction with the use of 3 operating systems is correct because 3 cannot be "dual booted" as 2.
However, the context he specifically meant to use was triple booting the aforementioned 3 operating systems with the Unintentional misuse of "dual booting" in description of the 3 operating systems.
Thus leading to my reply in the very context of what Xtam attempted to state.

On my main desktop, I always use windows.

On my laptop I tried the Backtrack Operating Systems but found them to be
a bit unstable. I moved to ubuntu but after awhile I wanted to go back to a
hacking-based OS. I tried out Kali Linux... but I got a random fatal system
error which deleted everything on the laptop. Now I am back to Windows 7.

Kali is still unstable according to me, i do try out backbox sometimes, as that is a good flavour as well!!
