RE: [MyBB] Any tutorials you'd like to see? - Jupiter_mybb_import19992 - 12-17-2015 If your'e like me and you travel a lot and get on airplanes more than a normal person ever will, you get very bored on the plane ride. I just do coding on the plane, I work on my websites. I plan to work on a mybb forum on the plan. I've managed to install mybb through ampps but it didn't install correctly? Or I messed up the SQL.... either way could you make a tutorial on how to install a fully functional mybb forum locally? RE: [MyBB] Any tutorials you'd like to see? - VirtualFrost - 12-17-2015 What about a tutorial on increasing security within MyBB? I don't know if it's possible, but security around lots of things is an issue. RE: [MyBB] Any tutorials you'd like to see? - fall3n_ - 12-21-2015 Well when I try to install a plugin (and do it as required move any file over ftp in the right folder) I cant reach the configuration -> Plugins anymore in the Admin cp... what have I done wrong? Likely put files where they aren't suppose to go. Which caused a conflict in the admin CP which either gives you an error on the plug in page or removed it. Try reversing what you did and trying it again. If you are using a FTP like Filezilla then it is just drag and drop. You drag the main file into your forum root, then it will place the files exactly where they should go. For example if you had the award plug in, you open your FTP client and drag it into the main folder where everything is. You need to extract the plug in of course onto let's say your desktop. Then click and drag that folder over it and drop, it will do the work for you that way. Here is a video: RE: [MyBB] Any tutorials you'd like to see? - fall3n_ - 12-21-2015 (12-21-2015, 10:45 PM)Angelic Wrote:(12-21-2015, 10:41 PM)fall3n_ Wrote:(12-21-2015, 10:26 PM)Angelic Wrote:(12-21-2015, 10:20 PM)fall3n_ Wrote: Well when I try to install a plugin (and do it as required move any file over ftp in the right folder) I cant reach the configuration -> Plugins anymore in the Admin cp... what have I done wrong? Deactivate your plug ins one at a time, to see which one is causing the error or turn them all off to see if it is even a plug in that is doing it. |
