So far, it has a great plot. Characters are fit too.

I just caught up on "I am a Hero" and I'm currently looking for other zombie-apocalypse type genres.
Mahou Shoujo of the End looks interesting.

That Cliffhanger ending of Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin somewhat pissed me off just now. Even more so if it's just promotion for the source material

Cliffhanger or plotholed endings always ticked me off. I think the last one that really irritated me was Negima!, but I think it'll be resolved in UQ Holder.
That said, I heard characters from Phantasy Star appear in Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin. Would it still be worth it to watch?

It's definitely worth the watch, I really enjoyed it. I don't know Phantasy Star's charachters, but I think Nanana played PSO in the last few episodes (so it's more like a cameo of the franchise). Nanana plays all sorts of games throughout the series and they're all references to real games.

The ending of Air Gear was bad. I read the manga and it was obvious they intended to make another season, but I guess they didn't get the funding and now it is just kind of there with no real ending, the main character just wins a big battle and it's over...
