RE: Grammar 101 - wander_n_wonder - 01-03-2014 The use of the cellphone has greatly affected grammar. People tend to rush what they send, so they use a lot of shortcuts in spelling and overall sentence structure. That's why, I myself make it a habit not to do any shortcuts, no matter how long it takes me to complete one text message. Once you get used to bad grammar, it's difficult to correct. I don't tend to use any shortcuts when sending a text message or e-mail, either. Neither do I,I tend to completely formulate my sentences. Unless I am chatting with good friends I use almost perfect grammar. RE: Grammar 101 - Emerald - 01-04-2014 omg u r sew rite thx 4 this gide Jokes :hehe: RE: Grammar 101 - Kaylah - 01-10-2014 Thank you for posting this. Improper grammar really bothers me. I see inappropriate grammar too much. It is way too common. RE: Grammar 101 - LindaKay - 01-13-2014 Thanks for this. Some people use atrocious grammar. RE: Grammar 101 - shamzblueworld - 01-13-2014 Nice initiative, but I'd suggest you to post more and more such informative articles so people could actually benefit from this. Maybe you should post a single misconception or common error everyday or every other day whenever you are free to do so. It'll be a help for some and fun at the same time. RE: Grammar 101 - rosa - 01-13-2014 Good suggestion. I guess these people just make big errors or they really don't know better:unsure:. Hope they have learnt something here:thumbsup:. RE: Grammar 101 - Otaku - 01-14-2014 Sorry to get up in your thread by the way.. If I sound like an ass in anyway, I will delete/edit this post. Also adding: For people who do not know, the plural of 'bring' is not 'brang', but 'brought'. I've seen that around on other forums. You also forgot to, two, and too! To and too can be tricky for some, but easy for others. Two - Everyone knows what 'two' is. It represents the number 2. So it's used for the number system. Ex: There are two birds on my porch. Too - Too is similar to using the word 'also'. I use it mostly when agreeing with someone. Ex: I, too, am going to the mall. To - Preposition before a noun Ex: I am going to the mall. Sorry again. ,_, |
