RE: Windows 11 - Your Thoughts? - Drako - 11-20-2021 If I ever feel like backing up & wiping my NVMe drive I'll try out Windows 11. My other problem is that I have half of my programs installed to my C:\ drive, and another half on my D:\ drive. So I would have to reinstall quite a few large programs. But I've never considered it for Windows 11. I'll have to watch some videos first before I go and attempt anything. Stating the obvious, use another software/tool. RE: Windows 11 - Your Thoughts? - talrodil - 11-20-2021 I upgraded my Windows 10 installation to 11 out of curiosity. At first glance it was awful, I dunno wtf they were thinking with that start menu and general UI. Had to update my bios to get the motherboard working properly, caught a virus in the process (not through Microsoft I'm sure) and had to reinstall most drivers to get them working properly. Also MS is pushing Edge harder than ever before. They never learn. All that considered, it was a relatively painless process and things seem to be working as well as before or better now. I also installed "Startallback" to get a decent Start-menu and it now feels like a modern version of Windows 7. Most of the spyware can be turned off and probably because of my previous Win10 install, I'm not logged into any Microsoft accounts. I also did some research on several Linux distributions over the week and if I didn't pirate all my games I'd probably seriously be considering Linux for a daily driver now. I'm trying out Manjaro with KDE Plasma on my laptop, we'll see if that causes massive headaches. Personally, I don't like the latest version, so I've configured the one defaulted to an earlier build of Windows 10. Everything went smoothly. I was able to use EaseUS to shrink my partition, and convert it to GPT. I've been mesmerized by how speedy this NVMe install is. I should've been more specific. I lost data when using gparted on Linux. It's great to read EaseUS has served you well. I've also experienced Issues with GParted a few years ago, and have stopped using It ever since.
